Stock issues (internal use)

Every stock movement so far had a counterparty — a supplier who sent goods, a customer who took them. A Stock Issue covers the movements that don't: showroom samples, materials your own work consumes, donations, write-offs. Stock leaves, nobody owes anybody money, and the document explains where it went.

You may not have this yet

Like the other extras, switch it on first: Settings → Inventory Features → Stock Issue (consume stock internally — material requisitions, production issues, samples, donations, write-offs). Inventory → Stock Issue appears.

Issue it

The form asks the questions an auditor would: who asked (Department, Requested By), what for (Purpose), and what leaves — search the product, set the quantity:

The stock issue — Showroom, display samples, 2 pieces of WGT

Seri Maju is taking two widgets for the showroom shelf. Save it, answer the opening-balance lock question if this is a product's first movement, and the issue takes its SI- number:

The issued document — internal use, on the record

The shelf drops to 48 — and the product's movement history shows Stock Issue as the reason, keeping the on-hand page's rule intact: every movement has its document.

What it does to your books

An issue is not a sale, so nothing touches revenue or customers. The goods leave at their average cost, and that value moves from Inventory to the issue's expense side — two widgets at RM 10 means your books now show RM 20 of showroom expense instead of RM 20 of stock. Honest both ways: the shelf is right, and the cost of using your own goods is visible instead of vanishing.

Unused material going back

The Stock Return switch next to Stock Issue in Settings describes returning unused issued material. In this version there is no screen for creating one yet — if issued goods come back to the shelf, record it with a Manual Stock Adjustment (Stock In, with the story in the note) until the dedicated flow arrives.
