Stock Valuation

Reports → Inventory Valuation. What is the stock on your shelves worth? For each product this report multiplies the quantity on hand by its WAC — the weighted average of what you actually paid for the units you still hold — and totals it up by category. The grand total is the same Inventory figure your Balance Sheet carries; this page shows the products behind that one number.

Stock valuation — 42 pieces at the RM 10 average cost

Seri Maju's single stocked product reads: WGT · 42 pieces on hand · unit cost (WAC) 10.00 · total value 420.00. Fifty pieces came in at RM 10, eight were sold — the 42 left are worth what was paid for them, not what they would sell for. Valuation is always at cost; the profit only exists once something is actually sold.

Two switches:

  • Show zero-stock — include products currently at zero on hand.
  • Include non-inventory items — list service and non-stocked items too (they carry no value, but the catalogue is complete).

How this differs from the Stock on hand screen

Inventory → Products is the operational view — quantities, reservations, reorder levels, right now. This report is the accounting view — cost value at a moment, snapshot-able and exportable for your accountant. Same stock, two questions. For how the WAC itself is calculated, see How stock value is calculated.

Like every report: Run reads the live books, Saved Snapshots keeps frozen copies, and the footer exports CSV / PDF.
